Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Specialist who rotates through all pharmacy areas under supervision to perform advanced technical tasks and ensure accurate dispensing and payment processing.

The role requires RI licensure, CPhT certification (or 1 year licensed experience with plan to sit for CPhT within 6–12 months), and strong computer and customer service skills. Day-to-day duties include data entry, insurance processing, and inventory management.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent degree.
• Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician licensure required.
• Must hold National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or have 1 year licensed tech experience and sit for CPhT within 6 months.
• Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office, email, and calendar applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, formulating, and packaging medications and pharmaceutical supplies.
• Enter patient data and process charging and insurance billing accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve patient inquiries and problems.
• Rotate to all relevant work assignments and shifts as needed.
• Maintain inventory, order medications, and support quality assurance activities.
