Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with pharmacy technician training.
• 6-months Pharmacy technician experience or healthcare experience required.
• PTCB certification and CT license are required.

Responsibilities

• Prescription Processing & Preparation: Accurately and efficiently locate and enter patient demographic information into pharmacy computer systems; ensure accurate transcription of new medication orders and processing of refill requests; perform necessary mathematical calculations for dosage, directions, and quantities; assist in third party adjudication; assist in cost management and coupon processing; accurately and efficiently pick, prepare, package, and label medications for verification; assist in LTC prescriptions per regulations.
• Customer Service and communication: Assist patients with register transactions, phone calls, OTC location, and nurse/provider inquiries; respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner; adhere to HIPAA; observe service standards.
• Department Maintenance: Maintain a clean work environment; ensure regulatory compliance for record-keeping; stock pharmacy items; assist in opening/closing procedures.
• Inventory management: Maintain OTC merchandise, stock, pricing, ordering; rotate stock by expiration dates; receive and replenish medications; perform daily cycle counts; identify items for reordering.
