Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; further training in fields such as medical office administration, pharmacy technician, etc. typically via associate degree or pharmacy technician program.
• 6 months Pharmacy technician experience or healthcare experience required; specialty/retail experience preferred.
• Current registration/licensure or eligible as a Pharmacy Technician in the state; PTCB certification required on or within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prescription Processing & Preparation: enter patient demographics, transcribe orders, calculate dosages, assist in cost management, and prepare/label medications.
• Customer Service and communication: assist patients at register, on the phone, locate OTC items, and follow HIPAA guidelines.
• Department Maintenance: maintain a clean environment and ensure regulatory compliance for records and stocking.
• Inventory management: manage over-the-counter items, rotate stock by expiration dates, receive medications, and perform daily cycle counts.
