Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support prescription preparation and delivery, data processing, inventory management, customer service, and department maintenance in a fast-paced hospital pharmacy.

Requirements include 6 months of pharmacy technician or healthcare experience, High School Diploma with related training, eligibility for state registration, PTCB certification within 12 months, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with related training in pharmacy tech or similar programs.
• 6 months pharmacy technician or healthcare experience required; specialty/retail experience preferred.
• Current registration or eligible for registration as a Pharmacy Technician; PTCB certification within 12 months.
• Strong customer service, communication, Excel skills, and multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions and enter patient demographics into pharmacy systems accurately and efficiently.
• Assist patients with register transactions, OTC items, and inquiries while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain department by stocking, organizing inventory, and performing daily closing/opening tasks.
• Respond to healthcare team inquiries and ensure safe medication delivery and accurate documentation.
