Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque is seeking a Retail Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in delivering patient-centered care. You will greet patients, help with prescriptions, manage inventory, and handle cash transactions in a fast-paced setting.

You will use dispensing software to input data, label medications, and obtain refill authorizations while supporting the team and ensuring accurate patient information. MercyOne offers a full benefits package and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Registration with Iowa Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of employment.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone.
• Represent MercyOne Retail Pharmacies in a courteous, caring manner.
• Operate cash register and manage payments and point-of-sale duties.
• Assist with inventory control: ordering, receiving, stocking, and stock checks.
• Input patient data into dispensing software and process prescriptions.
• Label prescriptions for final verification by the pharmacist.
• Obtain refill authorizations from prescribers as needed.
• Support nonsterile compounding per policy and training.
• Coordinate with third-party payers to resolve billing issues.
