Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Registration with Iowa Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of employment.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician within one year of employment.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients in person and on the phone.
- Operate cash register and process payments.
- Assist with inventory control: ordering, stocking, and returns.
- Input patient and third-party information using dispensing software.
- Package and label prescriptions for final verification by the pharmacist.
- Contact prescribers for refill authorization.
- Assist with counseling and other pharmacist activities as needed.
- Perform nonsterile drug compounding after training.
- Participate in quality, safety, and problem-solving activities.
