Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Katy, Texas, is seeking an Assistant Manager in our Operations department to support the Store Manager in daily store operations and to promote excellent customer service and product merchandising.

You will be trained in Store Manager responsibilities and may assume supervision in the manager's absence while contributing to inventory accuracy and overall store profitability during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Is a self-starter, has initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of the store.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assume responsibility of the store in the Store Manager's absence.
• Assist in personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Ensure inventory, sales statistics, and expenses are monitored for profitability.
