Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Department Operations Leader to manage day-to-day store department activities in Charlevoix, MI. You will oversee staffing, training, scheduling, and compliance with company standards and KPI targets.

The role requires strong leadership, multitasking, and hands-on problem solving, with an emphasis on inventory control, teamwork, and adherence to food safety guidelines. Prior retail supervisory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of retail experience preferred.
• One-year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and bookkeeping skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making and problem solving.
• Strong leadership abilities for hands-on environment.
• Knowledge of retail store operations and systems.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Spanish language ability is desirable depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day department operations.
• Order and maintain inventory to ensure freshness and quality.
• Review and validate received orders for amount, quality and weight.
• Manage a team to complete stocking, production, and related tasks.
• Maintain familiarity with products and store promotions.
• Communicate and execute weekly Flight Plans per company expectations.
• Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and safety guidelines.
• Participate in daily huddles and meetings.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked department.
