Job summary

Northern Tool + Equipment is seeking an Operations Manager to lead store operations in Tampa, ensuring a smooth experience for customers and staff. You will oversee a team of cashiers and stockers, drive process efficiencies, and maintain safety, merchandising, and asset protection programs under the Store Manager’s guidance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 2 years of college or technical training preferred.
• 2 years of related retail experience.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to lead, guide and mentor store employees.
• Strong customer service, decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver knowledgeable customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers want and need.
• Manage a team of Cashiers and Stockers to drive efficiencies in inventory, merchandising, safety, asset protection, cashiering and money handling to achieve team and overall store goals.
• Under guidance from the Store Manager, facilitate the hiring process, training and performance management for Cashier and Stocking Associates.
• Actively seek to minimize shrinkage of inventory and protect the store against shoplifting and internal theft.
• Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned, including being responsible for opening and closing the store according to established policies and procedures.
