PetSmart’s Retail Operations Lead is a store-wide leadership role focused on driving operational excellence. You will manage merchandising, inventory, pet care operations, and opening/closing duties while supervising associates and upholding our values and policies.

The role emphasizes training, coaching, and maintaining a safe, organized, and customer-friendly store environment. A strong emphasis on teamwork and a positive pet-parent experience is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a visually appealing store layout.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide sales associates in merchandise handling, providing training on product knowledge and presentation standards.
• Facilitates the associate experience and supports associate development, including training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Delegate and validate completion of daily tasks and supervise leaders when on duty.
• Address and administer associate complaints and grievances and recognize engagement drivers.
• Execute merchandise strategies to optimize sales, including product receiving, placement, displays, and promotions.
• Manage inventory levels, conduct audits, analyze sales trends, and coordinate stock replenishment and markdowns.
• Operate POS systems and handle cash transactions in line with policies.
• Maintain store standards and uphold Policies, Procedures, and Code of Ethics.
• Assist in opening/closing procedures and monthly live cycle counts.
