Job summary

Harrisonburg Gift & Thrift Shop Inc is seeking a Retail Team Leader to manage day-to-day store operations and coordinate with the Operations Manager. The role involves opening/closing, cashiering, staff scheduling, and overseeing donations processing.

The ideal candidate will lead volunteers, maintain stock and sales floor appearance, and ensure excellent customer service while supporting fundraising events and community programs.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide excellent customer service and resolve issues.
• Operate POS system and handle cash transactions.
• Lead and coordinate volunteers and staff.
• Strong communication with donors, customers and coworkers.
• Able to communicate in English and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Open the store daily and set up POS/cash drawers.
• Close the store and perform nightly POS/deposit tasks.
• Assist with cashiering and providing change for registers.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues.
• Coordinate workload/tasks for volunteers, work-study students and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness and stock donations as needed.
• Schedule and plan your own work activities.
• Attend meetings with Operations Manager and Management Team.
• Work Monday through Saturday and cover extended events when needed.
