Job summary

Peoples Bank in Madeira, OH is seeking an Operations Support Specialist within Retail Banking to elevate procedural consistency, reduce recurring issues, and drive continuous improvement across the Retail Business Line. Will resolve challenges, collaborate broadly with business leaders and embed operational excellence in day-to-day practices.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in related banking field.
• Phone skills and maintain a professional demeanor.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced and challenging environment with attention to detail and deadlines.
• Proven ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve operational exceptions.
• Ability to perform duties with limited supervisory assistance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• PC literacy with MS Office Word and Excel.
• Decision-making with interpersonal skills.
• Supervisory or management experience preferred or substantial experience as individual contributor.
• Understanding of retail bank policies across PEBO states for trusts, POAs, guardianships, etc.
• Strong organization and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Team player who can coach others and be coached.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Significant travel required across footprint.
• Valid Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Problem solving and proactive decision making to meet policy and procedure.
• Identify operational challenges and propose resolutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to mitigate risk and monitor outcomes.
• Understand business processes, control structures, and risk dynamics; educate changes.
• Partner with Fraud and Compliance to identify risks and strengthen protections.
• Maintain a risk register with high-priority threats and mitigations.
• Coordinate monthly and quarterly Operations Support Specialist meetings.
• Reduce escalations with clear policies and effective training.
• Communicate with regional leaders about issues, remediation, and policy changes.
• Work with cross-functional leaders to eliminate duplication and ensure regional consistency.
• Perform special projects as assigned.
