Job summary

JCPenney is seeking an Operations Associate to help create an outstanding customer experience through store operations. This early-morning role involves working with a team to complete tasks before opening, including pricing, replenishment, receiving merchandise and maintaining backroom standards.

Primary responsibilities emphasize customer service, merchandising execution, and omnichannel support, with learning opportunities across processes and safety.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years retail experience is preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work early-morning shifts before store opening.
• Comfort with merchandise replenishment, signing and pricing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service while assisting shoppers across the store.
• Execute pricing and signing to update tickets across merchandise.
• Replenish and restock to ensure availability of styles and sizes on the floor.
• Receive and unload merchandise and prep in the backroom.
• Maintain clean, safe backroom standards and organization.
• Support omnichannel programs including Buy Online Pickup in Store and Ship from Store.
• Follow leadership plans for merchandising placement and presentation.
• Engage in ongoing training to learn processes, shrink, safety and productivity.
