Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team. You will focus on merchandising, freight processing, and daily store operations to deliver positive customer experiences.

Key duties include opening/closing, asset protection, adherence to safety policies, and maintaining clean, organized spaces while maintaining high energy collaboration with staff and leaders. This role is full-time and on-site.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and restock bathrooms; sweep and mop floors; manage waste.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise needs, including frozen & refrigerated items.
• Ensure sales floor is sales-effective and merchandised.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with items of focus.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
