Job summary

GGP in Chicago seeks a Market Research Analyst to support leasing with data-driven insights across merchandising, retailer outreach, and portfolio positioning. You’ll transform complex datasets into clear visuals and actionable recommendations for internal teams and retailer pitches.

Reporting to the Director of Market Research & Analytics, you will analyze traffic, demographics, and market trends, producing tailored materials and reports that influence leasing decisions and drive portfolio

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Economics, Business, Analytics, or related field.
• 2+ years of market research, analytics, or commercial real estate experience.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; GIS/spatial analysis skills.
• Experience with data visualization tools and storytelling of insights.

Responsibilities

• Prepare research, analytics and data-driven materials for retailer outreach and leasing decisions.
• Assess trade areas, competitors, and market conditions for targeting and site positioning.
• Compile market data from sources like demographics, foot traffic, and consumer behavior for analyses.
• Create reports, maps, charts and visualizations communicating trade area strength and opportunities.
• Summarize findings and communicate trends to internal teams and external audiences.
• Evaluate shopping center performance against visitation trends and market benchmarks.
• Track indicators like traffic and consumer behavior and flag notable changes.
