Job summary

Alaska Industrial Hardware in Fairbanks, AK is seeking an Assistant Manager-In-Training for a full-time, hourly role with benefits. The position offers hands-on training in store operations, recruiting, coaching employees, and driving sales success.

Candidates should have strong customer service, basic math and communication skills, and be willing to relocate if needed. Experience in retail management or sales and knowledge of hardware or construction are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6-month minimum of AIH work history.
• Proven track record of excellent attendance.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills needed.
• Completed all assigned training programs and product curriculums.
• Must be willing to permanently transfer locations as management needs arise.

Responsibilities

• Learn to supervise and manage all aspects of daily store operations under the guidance of management.
• Learn how to assist in the planning, organizing, and achieving short and long-term goals.
• Learn how to assist in recruiting and hiring high caliber employees for all store positions.
• Learn how to provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees.
• Learn to assist in training and developing a successful sales team.
• Effectively communicate all store needs and progress to Store Manager.
