Description

As the Front-End Retail Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the retail department while partnering closely with pharmacy leadership and staff to support the overall success of the location.

Key responsibilities
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop front-end team members with a strong focus on customer service and teamwork.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy leadership to support daily store operations and provide an excellent customer and patient experience.
  • Foster positive working relationships between the front-end and pharmacy teams.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and recognition.
  • Manage front-end inventory, ordering, stocking, and product availability.
  • Oversee over-the-counter (OTC), gift, seasonal, and retail merchandise.
  • Maintain an attractive, organized, and welcoming store environment that meets Hometown Pharmacy standards.
  • Create engaging merchandise displays and identify opportunities to improve product presentation and sales.
  • Establish department sales goals and monitor sales, margins, inventory, and loss trends.
  • Partner with operations and pharmacy leadership to identify opportunities to improve profitability and reduce loss.
  • Communicate Company initiatives, operational changes, promotions, and expectations to employees.
  • Manage and approve front-end payroll and assist with employee scheduling and labor management.
  • Maintain appropriate cash-handling procedures and accurate cash drawers.
  • Support the store's social media presence and help promote products, services, events, and community involvement.
  • Ensure safety standards and Company policies are consistently followed.
  • Assist with receiving merchandise and coordinating product transfers between the warehouse and other Hometown Pharmacy locations.
  • Be an active, visible leader who is willing to assist both customers and coworkers when needed.
What We're Looking For
  • 2-3 years of retail management, supervisory, or comparable leadership experience preferred.
  • Degree or additional education in business, retail management, merchandising, or a related field is a plus but not required.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop employees.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a genuine interest in creating a positive shopping experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with both retail and pharmacy team members.
  • Experience with merchandising, visual displays, or retail product presentation is preferred.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership of department performance.
  • Ability to model Hometown Pharmacy's values and professional standards.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, point-of-sale systems, and other basic computer programs.

Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
