Job summary

America’s Thrift Stores is seeking a Retail Manager to lead daily store operations in Athens, GA. You will train and coach a diverse team, drive sales, manage inventory and donations, and uphold customer service standards.

You will collaborate with leadership to meet business goals, ensure loss prevention, and foster a positive community presence. A strong retail background and excellent communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in retail management or operations.
• Strong leadership and ability to coach and develop team members.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS systems.
• Ability to multitask and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screen completion.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing store team members.
• Provide coaching and performance evaluations to improve productivity.
• Foster an inclusive, team-focused work environment.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and train others in best practices.
• Resolve customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
• Build relationships with customers and the local community.
• Support sales targets via merchandising and up-selling.
• Oversee daily store operations including opening/closing.
• Manage inventory control, product quality, and loss prevention.
• Ensure accurate cash handling, deposits, and reporting.
• Enforce policies and safety regulations with audits.
• Collaborate with People & Culture and Asset Protection on investigations.
• Support donation processing and donor engagement.
• Work with Manager III to improve store performance.
• Other duties as assigned.
