Base pay range

$93,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr

Position Type: Full-time, Year-round, Salaried, Benefit Eligible, Includes weekend and evenings

As the Retail Manager, you’ll be a key part of this mission, helping guests take a piece of Filoli home with them through our thoughtfully curated retail spaces.

What You’ll Do

• Lead daily operations across all retail spaces, including the Clock Tower Shop, Nursery, Trailhead Store, The Staghorn and seasonal Pop‑Ups.
• Collaborate on visual merchandising strategy, using creativity and data to create engaging displays that reflect the beauty of Filoli and drive retail success.
• Supervise and support a dynamic team, including the Assistant Retail Manager, Retail Buyer, Coordinators and Retail Representatives.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, support special events, and serve as Manager on Duty as needed.
• Drive results through inventory management, retail analytics and operational excellence.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Brings

• 3‑5 years of retail leadership experience, including visual merchandising and customer‑facing roles.
• Proven ability to lead a team in a fast‑paced, high‑traffic retail environment (non‑profit or cultural institution experience a plus!).
• Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills, with a collaborative and inclusive management style.
• A passion for creating meaningful and beautiful guest experiences through merchandise and storytelling.
• Familiarity with tools such as Google Suite, Square, YellowDog and Altru is helpful.

Work Environment & Requirements

• This is a hands‑on leadership role that requires flexibility, weekend and evening availability, and comfort working in both indoor and outdoor retail spaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs and engage in physical tasks such as standing, bending, and merchandising displays.
• A valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required.
