Job summary

Century 21 Stores seeks a Loss Prevention Detective to prevent property loss and maintain a safe shopping environment. Under supervision you will detect and apprehend shoplifters and dishonest employees while supporting store operations and customer service.

You will respond to incidents, conduct investigations, prepare reports, and testify in court when required. Qualifications include a high school diploma and NYS security license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must obtain or be able to obtain a NYS Security license.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse groups.
• Resourceful and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Flexible schedule including retail hours (days/evenings/weekends/holidays).
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents to facilitate first aid and minimize liability.
• Recover stolen merchandise and apprehend shoplifters and others committing fraud.
• Investigate violations on company premises and prepare reports.
• Maintain compliance with law and company policy in apprehensions, searches, and evidence preservation.
• Promote shortage awareness and conduct training sessions.
• Conduct audits for merchandise exposure and asset protection.
