Job summary

Dollar General Corporation in the United States seeks a Cashier/Stocker who can perform front-end duties, stock merchandise and assist in leading the store when the Store Manager is absent. You will deliver excellent customer service, help create displays, and follow SOPs to maximize profitability and minimize losses.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking, operating the cash register, handling payments, and maintaining a clean, safe store environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter the store.
• Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total customer’s purchase; bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Keep store clean and safe, including stocking, backroom duties, and side displays.
