Job summary

Handcart Garden Center in Dade City, Florida is seeking a friendly Retail Garden Center Associate to join our outdoor-loving team. You’ll greet customers, help with plant selections, and handle retail transactions while maintaining a welcoming store atmosphere.

This role offers part-time or full-time opportunities with weekend availability preferred. Training is provided, and basic plant knowledge is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications

• Customer service orientation and friendly demeanor.
• Ability to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 40–50 pounds (bags of soil, plants, etc.).
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Basic plant knowledge is a plus but not required (we are happy to train!).
• Retail or garden center experience is a bonus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with plant selections, gardening products, and supplies
• Operate the register and assist with retail sales transactions
• Water plants and help maintain the health and appearance of nursery inventory
• Stock shelves and organize merchandise displays
• Assist with unloading plant shipments and moving inventory
• Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming retail environment
• Help load plants, soil, and supplies into customer vehicles when needed
• Support seasonal displays and promotions
