Qualifications

• Experience in retail or gardening preferred but not required.
• Passion for gardening and a desire to learn about plants and gardening techniques.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work Saturdays and holidays as needed.
• Physical stamina to lift and carry heavy objects and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, product selection, and gardening advice.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all garden center products including plants, tools, soil, fertilizers, and outdoor décor.
• Ensure products are well-organized, labeled, and visually appealing; restock shelves as needed.
• Assist with plant care, including watering, pruning, and pest control.
• Operate cash registers and process transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Keep the garden center clean and orderly, including sweeping and inventory organization.
• Assist with inventory counts, receiving shipments, and maintaining stock levels.
• Participate in promotional events and workshops to educate customers and promote sales.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and work collaboratively with team members to achieve sales targets.
