Overview

At Office Depot, the Retail Store Supervisor role is a full-time position that focuses on providing comprehensive solutions to our customers across various areas, including Technology, Services, Furniture, and Print offerings. This role involves quickly building and maintaining relationships with customers to establish trust and become their go-to advisor on Technology products/services and print offerings. The Store Supervisor demonstrates a strong passion for the brand, technology products, furniture, services, print, and other offerings. They effectively utilize Office Depot’s sales principles to proactively engage customers and drive sales. The Store Supervisor supports a customer-centric environment, engages with the local community, and contributes to a positive culture aligned with the Office Depot 5C values: Customer, Commitment, Change, Caring, and Creativity. Additionally, the Store Supervisor is responsible for training associates on Technology products, selling techniques, attachments, services, and driving sales.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Sales and Service Excellence:
    • Foster a culture of trust, brand loyalty, and exceptional customer service.
    • Utilize and understand the selling program to promote solutions and additional products/services. Stay aware of advertisements and promotions. Educate customers about Office Depot products and services.
    • Use communication tools to request assistance and coordinate customer engagement throughout the store.
    • Evaluate customer needs to determine the best solutions.
  2. Leadership and Team Development:
    • Provide guidance, training, and coaching to store associates, including Print Services associates.
    • Facilitate training on the business model and holistic service offerings.
    • Observe, coach, and give feedback to enhance associate proficiency and foster trust and loyalty.
    • Report on store associates’ performance, certifications, and competencies to the General Manager.
  3. Operational Efficiency:
    • Process merchandise accurately, adhere to procedures, deadlines, and visual standards.
    • Identify process improvements to reduce waste and inefficiencies.
    • Ensure loss prevention compliance and assist in coaching staff for performance improvement.
    • Contribute to increasing sales and profitability through conversion, AOV, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
  4. External Key Carrier Responsibilities:
    • Maintain safety and security during manager absences.
    • Ensure loss prevention compliance with all associates.
    • Perform opening and closing duties, including alarm system management, cash handling, and store balancing.
    • Fulfill responsibilities as an External Key Carrier.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Business, Retail Management, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related experience preferred.
  • Retail, sales, customer-facing, and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge in Technology and Print areas required.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and selling skills necessary.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and work independently or with a team.
  • Effective use of technology and POS systems required.

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule
