Job summary

Compass Group USA is hiring a Retail Food Manager I for Northeastern University in Boston. The role oversees day-to-day operations and financial success of multiple retail locations, ensuring compliance with contract guidelines, Health Department regulations, and company standards.

With growth potential, you will influence foodservice operations, staff training, and customer service excellence across locations, reporting directly to campus dining leadership.

Qualifications

• B.S. or A.A. degree plus three years of directly related experience preferred.
• One to three or more years of retail operational foodservice management experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of food trends, quality, sanitation, and cost controls.
• P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience desirable.
• Experience with cash retail operations.

Responsibilities

• Plans and supervises functions, maintains cash controls and payroll records, and oversees hiring/training of associates.
• Ensures customer satisfaction and good public relations through safe and efficient use of resources.
• Directs staff to provide scheduled retail services per policies and standards.
• Trains associates in customer service, portioning, cashier skills, and safety/sanitation.
• Completes daily/weekly/monthly reports per corporate policies and deadlines.
• Communicates effectively with team members, clients and students.
• Maintains cash handling standards to deter theft of services or funds.
