Job summary

The Retail Financial Operations Specialist supports retail financial operations, including prize validations, accounts payable, retailer licensing, and billing for the Kentucky Lottery Corporation (KLC). Assists in the development of efficient and effective business processes to support players and retailers.

Assists in maintaining compliance with state and federal reporting requirements for claims and retailer and vendor commissions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years of accounting experience in a computerized environment, including accounts payable/receivable and general ledger.
• Experience in retail accounting or bookkeeping is beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal tax withholding and reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Must be organized, thorough and detail oriented with the ability to handle competing priorities.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze issues and determine root causes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Dynamics (D365) or ERP systems preferred.
• Dependable with excellent time-management and attendance.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Validation team by processing claim information and responding to inquiries.
• Completes accounts payable responsibilities and processes ProCard transactions.
• Monitors retailer billing and coordinates with Legal and Revenue on collections.
• Addresses licensing procedures and reporting inquiries from stakeholders.
• Monitors licensing paperwork and compliance with state laws.
• Works with Legal and Security to supervise retailers and manage system setups.
• Develops and updates A/P, Validations, Licensing, and Billing policies.
• Supports scheduling and daily task prioritization for departmental goals.
• Contributes to the success of A/P, Validations, Licensing & Billing teams.
