Job summary

Ocean State is seeking a Facilities Associate to keep our store clean, safe, and welcoming for guests and associates. You will perform interior and exterior upkeep, assist with merchandising, and help ensure a top-notch shopping environment.

The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail setting. The position involves varied tasks from cleaning to light merchandising support, with a focus on preserving store condition and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Prior facilities experience is required.
• Experience in retail environment or customer service is preferred.
• Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and good verbal and written communication skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and correct maintenance and safety issues inside and outside the store.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and maintain floors, steps and other surfaces.
• Empty waste containers and dispose interior trash and debris.
• Check and maintain bathroom and breakroom supplies.
• Maintain approaches to buildings by keeping them clear of debris and obstructions.
• Ensure all work areas and materials are safe, clean and orderly; label/store cleaning supplies.
• Provide exceptional service on the sales floor and at the point of sale.
• Assist merchandising tasks such as stocking, displays, pricing, and operate a cash register as needed.
• Perform duties focusing on safeguarding Company property.
• Communicate issues to store leadership promptly.
