Zendesk, Inc. is seeking a Strategic Account Director, Retail New Business to create and close durable net-new business in large retail and consumer brands. You will build trusted relationships with executive buyers and guide opportunities from first conversation through close, aligning goals to Zendesk’s service and AI solutions.

You’ll lead cross-functional teams and maintain accurate CRM records while driving measurable outcomes and a smooth handoff to post-sale teams.

Competenze

• Typically 12+ years of related experience in complex retail software sales.
• Experience owning new-business opportunities and delivering measurable outcomes.
• Experience with prospecting, executive engagement, and complex deal ownership.
• Ability to discuss AI and platform value credibly; no specific degree required.

• Build and manage a qualified pipeline through targeted prospecting and partnerships.
• Lead complex sales from discovery through close and negotiation.
• Connect customer goals to Zendesk platform and AI solutions with measurable outcomes.
• Build relationships across executive, business, technical, finance, security, and procurement teams.
• Own pursuit strategy, deal progression, and commercial decisions within guidelines.
• Coordinate Solution Engineers, Product Specialists, Marketing, SDR/BDR, partners, and leaders.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, surface risks, and align buyers on next steps.
• Document goals, commitments, and success conditions for smooth handoffs.
