Zendesk, Inc. is seeking a Strategic Account Director, Retail New Business to create and close durable net-new business with large retail and consumer brands.

You will build trusted relationships with executive buyers, connect priorities to Zendesk’s service and AI solutions, and guide complex opportunities from first conversation through close. You’ll lead cross-functional teams, own pursuit strategy, and maintain disciplined forecasting to deliver measurable outcomes for enterprise clients.

Qualifications

• Experience owning new-business opportunities and delivering measurable outcomes.
• Ability to discuss AI, automation, and platform value credibly with stakeholders.
• Experience navigating complex enterprise sales with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage qualified pipeline through prospecting, inbound opportunities, and territory planning.
• Lead complex sales from discovery through proposal, negotiation, and close.
• Connect customer goals to Zendesk’s AI-enabled solutions with defined outcomes.
• Collaborate across executive, business, technical, finance, security, and procurement teams.
• Own pursuit strategy, deal progression, and commercial decisions within guidelines.
• Coordinate with Solution Engineers, Product Specialists, Marketing, and partners to move opportunities.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and forecasts, surface risks early, and align buyers on next steps.
• Document goals and success criteria to support handoffs and share market insights.
