Job summary

bp is seeking a Non-Energy Optimization Specialist to participate in portfolio management and profitability analysis for the Commercial & Industrial retail electricity portfolio. You will manage RA, MTR and capacity positions and hedge retail portfolios, transacting across approved products and supporting risk modeling.

Role requires strong analytical skills, experience with ISO markets (CAISO/PJM/NYISO), and proficiency in Excel VBA and SQL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in math, statistics, economics, quantitative finance or engineering.
• Experience in analytical or commercially focused roles.
• Retail supply experience or similar commercial exposure required.
• Knowledge of CAISO RA & MTR regulatory landscape preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel VBA and SQL; Python highly preferred; ETRM experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage retail portfolio of power products including RA, MTR, capacity and related trades.
• Transact bilaterally and on exchange to hedge and optimize the portfolio.
• Maintain regulatory filings for CAISO RA & MTR.
• Support pricing and risk reporting for retail customers and sales teams.
• Develop models for optimization, risk exposure and hedging strategies.
