Job summary

SmartestEnergy UK is seeking a Billing Analyst to support monthly invoicing for retail customers and manage daily billing processes. You will verify customer rates, assist with product setup in the billing system, and maintain strong partner relationships.

This hybrid role requires 2-3 days in either Syracuse, NY or Houston, TX offices. The base salary range is $60,000 - $80,000 with eligibility for a company bonus.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of Billing and/or Operations experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
• 1-3 years' experience in Retail Energy and/or Billing preferred
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of Utility Billing programs and EDI preferred
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel)
• Ability to work under tight time constraints
• Experience with cross-system reconciliation

Responsibilities

• Ensure billing accuracy by analyzing billing summaries and verifying terms
• Maintain billing curves and components within Billing system
• Generate invoices and review for accuracy
• Coordinate with Sales and Account Management on product setup
• Review exception reports and make corrections as needed
• Analyze billing trends and rate variances to identify root causes
• Develop and maintain recurring billing reports and dashboards
• Perform data reconciliations across Billing System, Salesforce, and contracts
• Support forecasting and variance analysis using historical data
• Execute billing cycles and confirm invoice readiness
