Job summary

G&M Oil Company Inc. is seeking a customer-service focused team member to join our store. This role involves handling sales transactions, processing payments, and maintaining a clean, safe environment for customers and employees.

The ideal candidate will multitask effectively, follow company policies on alcohol, tobacco and lottery sales, check IDs, and work with the team to meet goals while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn simple tasks quickly and work with little or no supervision.
• Basic math skills.
• Food Handlers Permit, if required by store/county.
• Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in English.
• Open availability to work all shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS (cash register and fuel console) precisely and accurately handle money and other types of payment received for product sold.
• Perform service transactions (credit card, coupons, vendor check-in, alcohol/tobacco/lottery, fast food) per policy.
• Check identification for alcohol, tobacco and lottery products per policy.
• Practice suggestive selling and build customer relations; monitor sales goals.
• Maintain a neat personal appearance and wear company uniform and name tag.
• Stock shelves with new merchandise and keep counters, equipment, and store clean.
• Follow safety procedures and store policies; participate in all store operations and campaigns.
