Job summary

G&M Oil Company Inc. is seeking a dedicated team member to provide exceptional customer service in a retail environment. You will handle sales transactions, maintain cleanliness, restock merchandise, and ensure safety and compliance with company policies.

The role requires the ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced setting, and communicate effectively in English. Training will cover POS operations, cash handling, and adherence to all laws and store procedures.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Excellent computer skills / competency in PDI Enterprise POS (evaluation required).
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn simple tasks quickly and work with little or no supervision.
• Basic math skills.
• Food Handlers Permit, if required by store/county.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Open availability to work all shifts as needed at home store and other stores within district when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS (cash register and fuel console) precisely and accurately handle money and other types of payment received for product sold.
• Perform service transactions in accordance with company policy: credit card transactions, manufacturer coupon redemption, vendor check-in, alcohol, tobacco and lottery sales, and fast food sales.
• Check identification for alcohol, tobacco and lottery products according to company policy.
• Be involved in all sales promotions and campaigns; practice suggestive selling and build customer relations.
• Follow all city, county, state, and federal laws affecting store operations.
• Maintain a neat personal appearance and wear company uniform and name tag at all times.
• Preparation of hot food items and maintaining condiment bar, fresh food availability, and related duties.
• Ensure store is clean, safe, and well organized; manage backroom supplies and stock.
