Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a full-time Retail/Cashier associate in Chester, VA. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and appealing store presentation, and accurately processing transactions.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, stocking shelves, managing visual displays, and supporting store goals while complying with safety and privacy policies. Evening/weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience.
• No previous experience required.
• No professional certifications are required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a positive attitude and courteous engagement with every customer.
• Greets every customer swiftly upon entering the store and thanks them at checkout.
• Engages with customers and roams the sales floor to provide assistance as needed.
• Processes customer transactions quickly and accurately within cash handling guidelines.
• Assists with stocking and presenting fresh products on the sales floor.
• Participates in rotating stock to keep shelves up to date.
• Understands and supports the store’s Round Up goal as assigned by management.
• Keeps the sales floor clean, neat and orderly at all times.
• Maintains wrap desks free of clutter and organized work areas.
• Maintains floor visuals, end caps and stock displays to support merchandising.
• If cleanliness issues arise, notifies store management promptly.
