Job description

This position is essential to the success of our retail stores. Customer Service Specialists work closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend suitable solutions. They are also responsible for promptly resolving customer concerns, ensuring maximum client satisfaction, staying updated on product features, and maintaining high quality and visual standards of the products and store. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service while consistently meeting the store's sales goals.

The selected individual will work at Store #3906, located at 1624 South Duff, Ames, IA 50010. This is a part-time position.

Job duties involve contact with customers, including minors, and access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value. Access may be supervised or unsupervised. To protect the business, its operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public, a review of criminal history is required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

1. Must be at least 18 years old
2. Legally authorized to work without sponsorship now or in the future
3. Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
4. Ability to retrieve materials from shelves and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation
5. Willing to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation
6. If internal, must have received at least a “meets expectations” (3) rating on the most recent performance appraisal
7. Completion of all required HR Cloud eLearning courses for current position (if internal)

Preferred Qualifications:

1. High School diploma or GED
2. At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service
3. Experience selling paint and related products
4. Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
5. Multilingual ability, especially in Spanish

Responsibilities
