Job summary

G&M Oil Company Inc. is hiring a retail associate to provide friendly customer service, operate the register, and help maintain a clean, safe store environment for customers and staff.

You will handle sales transactions, verify IDs for restricted items, stock shelves, assist customers on the floor, and support promotions while following company policies and safety procedures.

Open availability for all shifts is required to cover day, swing, and night shifts across district stores.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent computer skills; proficiency with PDI Enterprise POS (evaluation required).
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn simple tasks quickly and work with little supervision.
• Basic math skills.
• Food Handlers Permit if required by store/county.
• Ability to communicate in English (verbal and written).
• Open availability to work all shifts across the district when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS (cash register and fuel console) accurately and process payments.
• Perform service transactions per policy: credit cards, coupons, vendor checks, alcohol, tobacco and lottery sales, and fast food sales.
• Check identification for alcohol, tobacco and lottery products.
• Participate in sales promotions and build customer relations; meet sales goals.
• Follow all applicable laws and company safety policies.
• Maintain neat personal appearance; wear uniform and name tag.
• Prepare hot food items and manage food service duties.
• Keep store clean and sanitary; restock as needed; manage backroom organization.
• Receive deliveries and stock shelves; ensure no holes on shelves.
• Inspect perishable products for freshness and rotate stock.
• Follow safety procedures and incident reporting protocols.
