Job summary

Family Dollar in Newfield, NJ is hiring a part-time Customer Service Associate to help customers, process transactions, and keep the store clean and stocked. You will greet shoppers, offer recommendations, and ensure a safe, friendly shopping environment.

The role emphasizes excellent service, strong communication, and the ability to lift light to moderate loads while supporting store operations and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, and lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and assist with unloading trucks and stock replenishment
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and trash
• Perform other duties as assigned
