Job summary

Family Dollar in Jersey City is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to assist customers with questions, operate the cash register, stock shelves, and maintain store cleanliness. You will help unload trucks, replenish stock, protect company assets, and ensure a safe, friendly shopping environment for all customers and staff.

The role requires strong customer service skills, reliability, and the ability to lift 30–50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Retail/customer service experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs.
• Ability to follow instructions and read operational documents.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and associates.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors and waste disposal.
