Job summary

Family Dollar in Demopolis, AL is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to deliver a friendly shopping experience. You will assist customers, handle transactions, stock shelves, and keep the store clean and secure.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, prior retail or customer service experience, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. You will work on a cash register and support unload/stock tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and tolerate walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions on assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help unload trucks; stock replenishment.
