Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking a Customer Service Associate to deliver a great shopping experience. You'll assist customers, manage transactions at the cash register, and help keep the store stocked and clean. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and friendly interactions with customers and staff.

The position is part-time and located at Hwy 59, Stapleton, Alabama. Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred; weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks and stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and teammates.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
