Job summary

Family Dollar in Decatur, GA is seeking a Customer Service Associate to assist customers, process transactions, and help keep the store clean and stocked. The role emphasizes friendly, professional interactions with shoppers and team members.

The position is part-time and requires the ability to lift 30–50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and follow store procedures. Prior retail or customer service experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks and stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
