Job summary

Brixmor Property Group seeks a hands-on Project Manager to lead retail development and redevelopment across the South region, based in Orlando with travel. You will oversee tenant improvements, landlord work, and new ground-up projects within shopping centers, coordinating with national retailers and internal teams.

Responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining lease commitments.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of project management experience in commercial retail construction.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in owner/developer/retail or general contracting environments.
• Knowledge of estimating, budgeting, scheduling, permitting, contract administration, and construction project delivery.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
• Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Willingness to travel throughout the assigned region.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution of retail construction projects, including tenant improvements and redevelopment.
• Serve as the primary construction partner for tenants from lease execution through store opening.
• Manage landlord work and tenant improvements to meet lease obligations on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with national, regional, and local retailers to support project delivery and openings.
• Review and negotiate construction-related lease exhibits; provide budgeting and constructability input during lease negotiations.
• Manage due diligence including design review, permitting, entitlements, and consultant coordination.
• Oversee bid solicitation, contractor selection, contract negotiations, and procurement activities.
• Direct architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to meet quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to keep projects moving forward.
• Partner with Property Management, Leasing, Development, Legal, and Finance to align goals.
• Support capital improvements and redevelopment projects to enhance customer experience and property performance.
• Maintain regular stakeholder communication and status reporting.
