Retail Cashiers Job Description

Retail Cashiers greet customers with a smile and ensure they receive top-notch service on every visit. Your main responsibility is operating the register, but you'll also engage in cleaning, stocking shelves, receiving deliveries, and providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities

• Greet every customer with a smile, thank them for their business, and invite them back.
• Deliver a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience.
• Suggest store specials to customers to promote sales.
• Ring up sales and merchandise, applying available discounts and promotions, while following all policies and laws regarding restricted sales, including alcohol and tobacco (must be of legal age).
• Maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store.
• Restock shelves, displays, and coolers as needed.
• Clean the fast-food area and equipment, and stock as needed.
• Follow proper sanitation, food handling, storage, and disposal procedures.
• Label, rotate, and stock shelves, coolers, and displays properly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting; reaching; climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, or crouching; talking and listening.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 65 pounds occasionally.
• Work safely in conditions involving heat, cold, allergens, noise, and fumes/chemicals from gasoline and cleaning products.
