Overview

Colossal Cave is located in Vail, Arizona, and attracts visitors from around the world who delight in the incredible natural features found only in a cavern experience; stalactites, stalagmites and other extraordinary formations.

Retail Associate

Summary of Position: Responsible for assisting guests and selling merchandise in a friendly and efficient manner in the Company’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service. This position will also be cross trained to lead cave tours.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge guest upon arrival; also acknowledge guest upon departure
• Demonstrate knowledge of merchandise, styling, and pricing
• Must be able to educate guests about local collectibles and product lines as well as the Park and surrounding areas
• Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
• Accurately total, process and collect payments from guest to include, but not limited to, using the point of sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, making change
• Assist in conducing inventory, restock merchandise and ensure adequate merchandise supply levels
• Must be able to keep retail space and register area organized and clean
• Prepare end of shift report, deposit receipts and cash handling procedures
• Actively participate in creating a positive work environment, promoting team work
• Other duties as requested, as well as those responsibilities detailed in the job duties checklist

Position Requirements

• Excellent customer service and people skills
• Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, holiday shifts
• Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to read, write and speak English
• Must be able to meet and/or exceed customer expectations
• Majority of shift will be spent on feet in a fast-paced environment, in close proximity to other people and will involve frequent bending, twisting, squatting and lifting up to 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally

Knowledge And Experience

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience: Six months retail experience preferred
