Job summary

Dollar Tree in Cedar Falls, IA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, help organize merchandise, and ensure seasonal areas are well maintained.

This role requires strong communication and customer service skills, the ability to lead a team, and physical stamina for lifting up to 55 lbs. The position is part-time with opportunities for growth and benefits such as employee assistance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Retail/store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties such as walking, standing, bending, and climbing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits) and loss prevention.
• Maintain store areas, including a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
