Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist with supervision, merchandising, paperwork, and deposits, while stocking and cashiering as needed to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

The role involves leading customer service, scheduling, training, and ensuring compliance with company policies, with duties that support store profitability and asset protection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail experience and some supervisory exposure preferred.
• Comfort operating a cash register and scanner.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership at the point of sale.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and enforcing store policies.
• Manage merchandise flow, stock, restocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and markdowns.
• Support planogram implementation and product presentation.
• Support cash handling, refunds, overrides, and deposits with accuracy.
• Assist in store management during Store Manager absence.
