Retail Assistant Store Manager

$18.00 to $21.00 per hour, plus commission and bonuses based on store performance.

Position Summary

Assistant Store Managers are accountable for daily store operations, creating a positive, productive environment. Partnering with the Store Manager, you will recruit and retain talent, lead staff, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations and satisfaction. You will analyze financial statements, promote the business, and target new customers, while handling a wide range of merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers and promptly addressing issues.
• Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet FirstCash standards.
• Recruit top talent through company‑prescribed channels.
• Open and close the store, counting cash drawers and merchandise, ensuring procedures protect assets.
• Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
• Administer store processes (inventory, loan management, merchandising, presentation, systems, enterprise‑level reporting).
• Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
• Ensure operating standards meet or exceed FirstCash standards.
• Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to maintain loan value and integrity.
• Complete assigned tasks and self‑development training.
• Communicate clearly with employees to ensure understanding of store objectives.
• Stay up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
• Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must have demonstrated supervisory ability.
• Must be able to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• Must be able to assist customers on the exterior of the building or retrieve products from exterior storage.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess at least a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Must be willing to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Must have the ability to work a flexible retail schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
• Must understand that assistant store managers will work 40+ hours a week; hours are based on business needs and not guaranteed.
• Must be computer literate and able to operate Point‑of‑Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.
• Must have strong multitasking, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Cash handling experience is required.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must have an excellent work ethic and strong business sense.

Commission Plan Information

Assistant Store Managers have the potential to earn 2‑8% commission based on personal gross profit. Detailed information will be provided during the interview process.
