Job summary

Dollar Tree in Tampa, Florida is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support day-to-day store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and help develop the team. In this role you will assist with merchandising, staffing, opening and closing procedures, and enforcing company policies while keeping the store clean, safe, and well organized for customers and associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communicate store activities.
• Maintain storefront displays and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and secure store assets.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
