Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Bellefontaine, OH is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with day-to-day activities and maintain a welcoming, efficient shopping environment.

Key duties include merchandising, opening and closing procedures, scheduling, training Store Associates, loss prevention, and ensuring a clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom aligned with company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash handling).
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store, restocking bathrooms, sweeping/mopping floors, taking out trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
