Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Alpena, Michigan. You will support store operations, assist customers, and help develop a high-performing team.

This role emphasizes hands-on leadership, merchandise control, and everyday problem solving to ensure smooth store performance and a welcoming shopping experience. In this position you will oversee opening/closing procedures, assist with payroll and scheduling, and maintain clean, organized sales floors and stockrooms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and deliver excellent service.

Responsabilités

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications relating to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including restrooms and floors; manage trash and neatness.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
